Helping recovery!
HVL successfully secured a grant of £4,000 from the Provincial Grand Master’s Fund as a donation to a Huddersfield charity, Platform One. Platform One is a non-judgemental charity that helps men living in isolation due to mental health or addiction issues. The charity offers a base for over 200 men from the Kirklees to learn new skills such as carpentry, bike maintenance, upholstery, furniture repairs and I.T. know-how to enable them to reconnect with their communities. The charity also provide help with benefit, housing problems and counselling.
Platform One is run entirely by voluntary contribution and is based in an old railway carriage adjacent to Huddersfield Train Station.
