The Travelling Gavel was presented to the W. M. of the Holme Valley Lodge on the Lodge night of the 16th of January. It was presented by a contingent of Freemasons from Armitage Lodge in Milnsbridge, it’s previous hosts.

The purpose of the Travelling Gavel is to promote visiting between lodges.

The Gavel itself is made from ancient timber recovered from the York Minster fire which happened in 1984.
